Effective vessels/voyages for US Customs 24-hour Advance Cargo Manifest Rule
It is very proud to inform all of you that Hatsu is ready in all aspects including the systems and procedures for the full compliance with the new rules and it is decided to implement the procedure for all the different routes and trades by the following vessels/voyages.

US Customs 24-hour Advance Cargo Manifest Rule
The U.S. Customs Services have amended the Customs Regulations with effective from December 2nd, 2002 regarding 24-hour Advance Manifest Policy and the rule has been published in the Customs Federal Register (CFR)

Force Majeure event commenced
This is to notify you that Force Majeure events commenced at ports on the U.S. West Coast on or about September 29, 2002 and are ongoing. These Force Majeure events consist of labor disputes that have effectively shut down the U.S. West Coast ports.

US West Coast port situation
Most of Hatsu Marine's customers are already fully aware of the consequences of the lock-out of port employees in all 29 US West Coast ports following the breakdown of negotiations between the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU).
